      5 Steps to IAM Zero
By Paul Schwarzenberger 🇬🇧 Cloud Security Engineer

According to AWS, around 2/3 of customer security breaches arise from leaked or stolen long-lived credentials such as API keys, passwords and secrets. Drawing on his experience across UK Government, Financial Services and the Energy sector, Paul presents 5 Steps to IAM Zero – a framework for eliminating IAM users across an AWS Organization. Starting with measurement, monitoring, and removal of unused identities, we’ll move on to AWS IAM Identity Center for human users, IAM permissions and resource policies. You’ll learn about newer authentication methods for machine, CI/CD and AI agentic access to and from AWS, including OIDC, IAM Roles Anywhere and IAM outbound identity federation. You’ll see a live demo of data transfer from Azure to AWS with no long-term credentials, and come away with practical steps you can take to significantly improve and maintain security across your own AWS environment.

From Threat to Guardian: Harnessing AI/ML on AWS
By Daniel Clement 🇬🇭 Solution Architect

One of the most rapidly expanding cyber-enabled crimes is sextortion, which takes advantage of weaker people by manipulating them and using digital blackmail. This worldwide menace is too great for traditional law enforcement to handle alone. In this talk, I'll walk you through how governments and companies can build a multi-layered defense that integrates detection, prevention, and quick response by implementing AI-powered detection models on AWS to flag suspicious activity across messaging, email, and social media platforms. We would be examining the use of SageMaker or Bedrock, Rekognition, and AWS Comprehend. Walk you through my built, secured digital portal powered by AWS Amplify for anonymous reporting and connecting victims with immediate support while complying with privacy and child protection compliance standards in the solution.

Lessons Learned After Putting AWS DevOps Agent in our SRE Workflow
By Mitja Hofer 🇸🇮 Senior DevOps Engineer @ Celtra

AI agents sound very compelling in demos, but real world use in production gets complicated. After months of running AWS DevOps Agent as part of Celtra's SRE operations, we have opinions about what works, what doesn't and what we wished someone told us before we started. In this talk we'll cover how we evaluated and integrated DevOps in our incident response work flow, how we extended it with Lambda and what this allows us to do. We will take a look how the agent proposes actions to the on-call engineer and how we closed the loop by connecting agent proposed mitigations in our software development lifecycle. We will take a look at alternatives we considered, the caveats we ran into and mistakes that cost us time and what we learned after months of agents in our incident response workflows.

Responsible AI in Practice: Operationalizing AI Safety with Amazon Bedrock Guardrails
By Faye Ellis 🇬🇧 Author Fellow @ Pluralsight

Responsible AI is often discussed in terms of principles and governance frameworks, but organizations ultimately need practical mechanisms to implement those principles in production systems. In this session, we’ll explore how Amazon Bedrock Guardrails can help organizations operationalize Responsible AI by introducing configurable controls like blocking harmful content, and protection against prompt injection attacks, protecting sensitive information, and enforcing custom organizational policies across foundation models. Attendees will leave with practical guidance for designing, deploying, and governing safer generative AI solutions on AWS.

Serverless vs Kubernetes: the final showdown
By Davide de Paolis 🇩🇪 Engineering Manager @ Sevdeks/Shine

There is no silver bullet!" While that may be true, it won’t stop us from stepping into the ring to argue over these two opinionated and polarising approaches to cloud computing. In this lively debate, we’ll spar over complexity, scalability, cost, and real-world use cases. We’ll unpack the biases and prejudices we all bring to architecture decisions, challenge common assumptions, and explore topics like security, legacy modernization, and event-driven architecture. Whether you're Team Serverless, Team Kubernetes, or undecided, join us as we wrestle with the tradeoffs that come with each model. Who will win?

Securing Applications at Machine Speed with AWS Continuum
By Andre Baumeier 🇩🇪 Senior Solutions Architect @ AWS

Frontier AI models have collapsed the attacker's timeline. A newly disclosed vulnerability becomes a working exploit in minutes, and AI-assisted coding tools are shipping new application code faster than any security team can review it. The result is a widening gap: attackers now operate at machine speed while defenders are still finding and fixing issues by hand. The queue grows faster than anyone can clear it. This session makes the case that defending modern applications is no longer a problem you can staff your way out of — it requires agentic capabilities that reason about your application the way an attacker does, at the same speed. We'll look at why traditional tools fall short: SAST sees code but not context, DAST sees runtime but not root cause, SCA sees dependencies but not your code, and manual penetration testing is thorough but doesn't scale. None of them chain vulnerabilities across layers the way a real adversary — or an AI agent — can. We'll then walk through how AWS Security Agent, now part of AWS Continuum, closes that gap by bringing proactive, AI-powered security across the full development lifecycle: evaluating designs against your security requirements before code is written, reviewing pull requests as they're opened, and running on-demand penetration tests that discover and chain validated, reproducible vulnerabilities in hours instead of weeks. You'll see how the agent learns your application's context, plans attacks specific to it, and adapts in real time — and how Continuum extends that same reasoning into prioritization and remediation, all within guardrails you define.

AWS Security Agent: Get started with AI-powered proactive AppSec
By Andre Baumeier 🇩🇪 Senior Solutions Architect @ AWS

Security reviews and penetration testing are critical but often create bottlenecks that slow down development teams. AWS Security Agent changes this dynamic by bringing AI-powered, proactive application security directly into the development lifecycle — from design through deployment. In this hands-on workshop, participants will set up and use AWS Security Agent to enforce organizational security requirements across design documents, code reviews, and live applications. You'll define security standards once — approved libraries, logging policies, data access controls — and see how the agent continuously validates your work against those standards, providing actionable guidance when it detects violations. You'll also experience how AWS Security Agent transforms penetration testing from a periodic, resource-intensive exercise into an on-demand capability. By providing target URLs, authentication details, and application context, the agent develops deep understanding of your application and executes sophisticated attack chains to discover real vulnerabilities. What you'll do: Set up an instance of AWS Security Agent Run AI-powered penetration testing against a provided endpoint and validate the results Define custom organizational Security Requirements and apply them to the agent Use the agent to review architectural design documents for security compliance Integrate the agent into a GitHub pull request workflow for automated code security review Who should attend: Software developers, DevSecOps engineers, and security engineers looking to shift security left and reduce friction between development velocity and security rigor. What you'll take away: Practical experience using AWS Security Agent to automate security enforcement across your SDLC — enabling your teams to ship faster without compromising security posture.

Gateway API Isn’t About Ingress Anymore: Building Service Networks on AWS with Amazon VPC Lattice
By Claudiu-Cristian Sonel 🇷🇴 Senior DevOps Consultant @ ENDAVA

For years, Kubernetes networking has followed a familiar pattern: create an Ingress, provision a load balancer, expose an application. Gateway API promised a better Ingress. Amazon VPC Lattice challenges the assumption that application networking must start with a load balancer at all. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore how Gateway API can be used to build service networks directly from Kubernetes manifests, transforming familiar resources such as GatewayClass, Gateway, and HTTPRoute into Amazon VPC Lattice services and service networks. Instead of focusing on north-south traffic and external exposure, we’ll look at how Gateway API can become a Kubernetes-native interface for service-to-service connectivity across applications, VPCs, and AWS accounts. Participants will deploy the AWS Gateway API Controller, provision VPC Lattice resources from Kubernetes, and build a complete application networking layer without deploying a single load balancer. Along the way, we’ll discuss where VPC Lattice fits among ALBs, NLBs, service meshes, and traditional ingress architectures, and why Gateway API may be much bigger than an Ingress replacement. By the end of this workshop, you’ll be able to answer: * Is Gateway API really just the successor to Ingress? * Do all Kubernetes applications need a load balancer? * How can the same Kubernetes resources create a service network instead of an entry point? * When should I choose ALB, NLB, VPC Lattice, or a service mesh? * How can I build service-to-service connectivity directly from Kubernetes manifests? * What changes when networking becomes a platform concern instead of an application concern? If your mental model of Gateway API stops at ingress, this workshop will challenge it.
